Job purpose:
The Sales Forecast Analyst will review data provided by sales representatives, analyzing and revising the data to deliver accurate projections about market and business conditions, anticipated production levels, and other factors.
forecast analyst is an economics specialist who examines inventory levels, speed of production, and demand for the product to ascertain a company's optimal production levels and potential future sales. These analysts make use of several types of measurement and financial modeling to make accurate predictions. They may work with several departments or regional teams in culling information and developing reports. A forecast analyst's job is to research how to capitalize on existing trends as well as identify new and developing trends and sales opportunities in the market. A bachelor's degree is necessary for most forecast analysis positions, and a master's degree is often preferred for higher-level roles.
Role & responsibility:
1)-Work with management to understand the scope and use of the forecast and to provide a project plan with key deliverables listed by the date.
2)-Determine the optimal method for forecasting, taking into account the context of the forecast, availability of data, the degree of accuracy desired, and the timeline available.
3)-Conduct competitor and consumer market research to uncover ratios and trends ultimately used to inform the forecast.
4)-Gather and analyze numerical data, such as consumer spending and economic trends.
5)-Present findings in such a way that it ties takeaways to clear recommendations and operational decisions.
